A Bill of Materials (BOM) defines the list of raw materials, sub-assemblies, and components required to manufacture a finished product. In the Production module, BOMs are the foundation for work orders, material planning, and cost tracking.

Purpose of BOM

  • Define materials and quantities needed for production.

  • Create a structured list of components and sub-assemblies.

  • Standardize production for consistent quality.

  • Serve as a reference for costing and pricing.

Key Features

  • Single-level and multi-level BOMs supported.

  • Track material consumption, wastage, and by-products.

  • Version control for updated product designs.

  • Supports costing based on latest purchase/stock rates.

Reports & Usage

  • BOM Cost Report for accurate pricing.

  • BOM Explosion Report for material breakdown.

  • Links directly to Work Orders for execution.

Next Step
Once a BOM is defined, it can be used to create a Work Order to start production.
