The Receipts module lets you view all the payments you have received from your customers. You can view the payments recorded for your invoices.
Create a New Receipt
To record payment from a customer:
- Go to Receipts tab.
- Click New button in the top right corner of the page.

- Fill in details in the New Receipts page.
| Fields | Description |
| Entity | Select the Entity against which you want to record this receipt. |
| Receipt No | The default transaction series will be used. Choose a different one, if needed. |
| Date | Enter the receipt date |
| Receipt Account | The Receipt Account is typically a cash or bank account where money is received. |
| Amount | Enter the total payment received from the customer. |
| Payer | Select the payer (Customer) from whom you have received the payment. |
| Credit Ledger | Think of the Credit Ledger as the flip side of the Receipt Account — it’s the GL account that gets the credit when money comes in. Typically, liability GL accounts like 'Advance from Customers' go here. |
| Memo | Add notes |
- Click Save at the bottom of the page.
