Once warehouses are created and configured in the Inventory App, you can begin managing stock across them. Goods movement ensures that all inflows, outflows, and transfers of stock are recorded accurately, helping you maintain real-time visibility of inventory.
Types of Goods Movements
Goods Receipt (GRN)
Stock entering a warehouse.
Example: Receiving items from a vendor or recording opening stock.
Goods Issue (GI)
Stock leaving a warehouse.
Example: Fulfilling customer orders or recording damaged/expired items.
Stock Transfer
Moving stock from one warehouse to another.
Example: Transferring goods from the central depot to a retail store.
Stock Adjustment
Manual corrections to account for physical stock mismatches.
Example: Shrinkage, theft, or reconciliation during audits.
Best Practices
Always record goods movements in real-time to avoid stock mismatches.
Regularly reconcile physical stock with system records.
Restrict goods movement permissions to authorized users for better control.
Use dashboards for proactive replenishment and inventory optimization.
